Celebrating Wetlands

Carolina Wetlands Association · May 2025

May is an entire month dedicated to celebrating these ecologically diverse and economically vital ecosystems. Wetlands are everywhere across the Carolinas — from mountain bogs and Piedmont floodplains to coastal Carolina bays, pocosins, and saltwater marshes. This month, we invite you to explore them!

❤️ Support Our Mission

Wetlands face growing threats — rising sea levels, increased temperatures, development pressures, and loss of regulatory protections. These ecosystems provide clean water, flood control, fisheries, wildlife habitat, and coastal resilience. We can't protect them without your support.
